This movie is Epic!

Seriously! This is my favorite 2009 summer movie!

I'm a huge Science Fiction fan and I loved the first movie, albeit there were individual scenes that nearly lost me.  The scene at the military airport where the little bot is trying to make it to the "Police Car", he walked like a comedian trying not to get noticed.

But other than a few little flaws like that, I liked the action.

Transformers 2 grew in scope almost 5 times from the first one, in my opinion.  90% of the movie was full-throttle action!

And Shia Lebouf... I can't say enough about this kid.  He's the real deal.  I've loved all the movies he's been in, including the one's he wasn't the lead of.  As an actor, he takes every scene and every line absolutely seriously.  He's committed to every scene and 100% in the character.

If you like science fiction, and you're also an action fan, you can't get much better than a Michael Bay movie.  He's raised the bar so high for high-caliber, super-octane, adrenaline-pumping action movies, that other film makers will have a lot to do to equal or surpass him, or even equal what he's done.

Like James Cameron, Michael Bay focuses on story and delivers 100% quality in every shot.  I know from experience how hard it is to make a movie.  I directed a 13-episode TV show back in 1993 and it also had actors, special effects, miniatures, pyrotechnics, etc.  My budget wasn't near the budget of a Michael Bay production.  We would have been equal to the craft service budget, maybe.

Take my word for it, this movie is fun.  Just sit back and get ready for a fun time.

Steve Jablonsky's score is also top-notch.  I'll talk about it in a separate post.
