I just played Redhawk Golf Club in Temecula CA last week for the first time and I probably won't be going back there.  It's not that it was tough, because it really wasn't, but the greens were a little rediculous.

It had many multi-tiered greens that were severely sloped.  A few of the players in our group putted off the green on a couple holes.  What makes it worse is that the greens were long and shaggy, so they were slow.  If they were fast, they would have been pretty much impossible to putt.

I'm all for a challenging course, but when you have to dribble a putt downhill from 20 feet and the ball still rolls past the hole 25 feet and off the green, that's not right.

The practice green was a good indicator of what was to come.  There wasn't a flat spot on the green and one particular putt was about 15 - 20 feet uphill and up a quick slope.  Many times I left it short and the ball would end up racing back to me and right past me off the green.

I shot 77.  Pretty bad seeing that I didn't really hit that many bad shots.  Oh well.
