G-Fan Magazine interview
Modified By kwdnnsuper on 4/15/2007 12:06:35 PM)

G-Fan MagazineI recently gave an interview in early 2007 to the G-Fan magazine about my role as Director of the 1993 TV series Ultraman: the Ultimate Hero aka Ultraman Powered.

This magazine is targeted toward Godzilla fans and fans of Japanese monster genre movies.

This is the first time my words in an interview hasn't been "reworked" for the publication.  Brett Homenick, who interviewed me, kept everything pretty much verbatim.  You can tell that in some of the responses I give.  They sound pretty intelligible at times, but when he gave me a copy of the transscript to look over before sending it to the printer, I decided to leave it that way.  I figure if I really talk like that, then I talk like that and that's it!

I talk about what my experience during the production was like and how the project got off the ground and things like that.

You can get a copy from the G-Fan web site at http://www.g-fan.com.  I'd like to know what you think.

Hey, King

Wow! It's been quite a while! I was one of the modelmakers/conceptual artists that worked on Ultraman through Dave Sharp Productions.
I was in the comic store and saw your name on the magazine and I had to see what you were up to.
I'm glad you got to discuss the whole Ultraman thing.
Although I had great fun, I never realized just how stressful it was for many others involved.
I won't clog up the forums here with strolls down memory lane so I'll just say it was great working with you back then and great reading the article.
If you want to see what I've been up to you can check out my first short film website here:

www.themourner.com

It's optimized for Macs and PC's with updated browsers so hopefully you won't have a problem. We've gotten back a few reports
that the typeface was wonky on certain PC's that didn't have the "Impact" font in their fonts folder.

Take care, King and be sure to tell Julie I said "Hi".

Re: G-Fan Magazine interview

Eric,

Yes we remember you.  How are things going?  I looked at your website, it looks great!  Are you screening your film at festivals?  I'd love to see it when it's released.

Julie and I are no longer in the film business.  That doesn't mean that someday we might get back into it, but for now I work for myself running a couple businesses and we're doing fine.

I saw Dave Sharpe a month or so ago.  He's also making his own feature film on HD.  He's been working on it for some time and it's almost done.  It seems easier now a days to make your own film with the cameras that are available.

It's good to hear from you and good luck on your film career.

Hey, King

I just sent out some screening DVD's to certain festivals so hopefully it will make it into some.
It was just nice to finally finish a film, even a short one.
I haven't talked to Dave for quite some time now. He is a very cool guy.
If he doesn't mind you giving out his e-mail address, I'd like to drop him a line as well.
Thanks for your comments on the site. They are appreciated.
When the film makes it to the web or on DVD for distribution I will get a copy to you.
Best of luck to you and Julie both.
Take care.
